The Luton Youth Jazz Orchestra started in 2002 from the Stopsley Saturday Morning Music School Jazz Ensemble. LYJO meet every Tuesday evening during term time and perform at many concerts and functions nationally throughout the year. LYJO is conducted by Simon Router.

LYJO recently performed at Music For Youth, a national festival celebrating youth music around the country, which was held in Birmingham. LYJO won the outstanding performance award, and have been invited to play at the Royal Albert Hall for the school proms in November.

The third LYJO CD - "Hunting LYJO" is in production and will be available Summer 2007.

"Our First Wade With Gospel John" and "Gradually Last Summer", the first two CDs from LYJO are still available via email simon@lutonyouthmusic.co.uk or at any LYJO concert from any of the member of the band at the fantastic price of £5.
