| The Luton Youth Wind Ensemble is conducted by Jo Sear and rehearse every Wednesday evening during term time. In 2004 students from the Luton Music Service were invited to perform the
Mozart Wind Serenade K361 for the opening concert of the Luton Music Club’s
Music on Mondays concert series. This
was very well received and the students enjoyed the work so much that they
wanted to experience more chamber music. In March 2005 the Luton Youth Wind
Ensemble (affectionately known as LYWE) was formed.
The group rehearse for one hour each week and play many different styles of
music. There most unusual performance venue to date has been Luton Central
Library – an unusual audience response as everyone remained silent, but
compliments were put in writing and passed onto the ensemble by the librarian. If your interested in joining LYWE you can contact Jo via email jo@lutonyouthmusic.co.uk
